flyerevent programme

singing the world up from the ground…

10.30m – songlines- meet at The Drill Hall, Easton Lane, Portland

A walk led by Portland Ranger, Lynn Cooch, will trace its way through Tout Quarry. The route will wind amongst the beautiful stone carvings of the Portland Sculpture and Quarry Trust and the remnants of the 200 year old quarry works. Walkers will stroll through gullies, past tumbled rocks and tipping bridges out onto the coast path, while the Ranger’s knowledge of Portland’s unique quarrying past and rare wildlife illuminates the path. Listen out for a tune carried on the wind… Portlanders will be singing the shanty at different spots along the walk. Singing Portland up from the ground and telling local stories through song.

tea & coffee will be served throughout – some cake would be much appreciated!
